GSAT-17 launched in orbit through Ariane-5 VA38 launch vehicle from French Guiana

GSAT-17, the latest communication satellite belonging to Indian National Satellite (INSAT) system, was launched into orbit yesterday onboard Ariane-5 VA38 rocket from Kourou, French Guiana. GSAT-17 carries payloads in normal and extended C-bands and S-band enabling various communication services. It also carries equipment for meteorological data relay and satellite based research and rescue services.
